The Misty Cottages are set down a secluded dirt road a mere 200m from the sleepy town of Dullstroom allowing our guests to have serenity whilst being walking distance from the centre of town.
A few words from the owner
We fell in love with Dullstroom when we first visited over a decade ago, we instantly chose to make it our home away from the chaos and Johannesburg and over the years our family has spent many a relaxing weekend up here fishing, whiskey tasting, shopping and generall just relaxing in the crips cool air of Dullstroom.
One of the more unique aspects of Dullstroom is when the heavy mist settles on the town blanketing out every sound and leaving you feeling like you are the only people left. The serenity and beauty of Dullstroom is what sticks in your mind but the friendly people and eclectic stores is what keeps people coming back year after year.
Misty Cottages were designed with comfort and livability first in mind.
The cottages are mirror images of each other both offering 2 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, both with spa-style showers, with a large central area with luxurious leather couches, cane occasional chairs and a comfortable dining area.
The galley style kitchen comes fully kitted out with all the appliances, crockery and cutlery that would be required.
The large living area leads directly to a covered outside seating area and a huge grassy area with a private built-in braai. Both cottages are surrounded by a plethora of roses with great views over the forest and the protected wetland nature reserve.
Unfortunately, due to the open design of the grounds, we can’t accept pets at Misty Cottages
What to do in and around Dullstroom
There is a plethora of fishing venues around the sleepy town of Dullstroom, for those new to the sport make sure you drop in at the Village Angler or Mavungana, both of which can advise you on the numerous waters they manage as well as offering tips on what’s biting and even renting out equipment if required.
Even though our cottages are designed with self-catering in mind we would recommend you take some time out and relax in some of the numerous restaurants dotted around Dullstroom.
Good wholesome meals can be found at The Mayfly, The Old Transvaal Inn, The Coachmans or the Dullstroom Inn while Poachers and Duck and Trout are great for a quick pub lunch with a nice cold Guinness or beer of choice.
